Guess it’s a gamble either way. If you’re not in a rush, tracking trends can make sense.
Yeah, that’s pretty much how I see it too. I waited last summer thinking the rebate might go up, but then the utility changed their program rules and I barely squeaked in before they dropped the payout. Sometimes you win, sometimes you just get lucky. If your system’s dying though, waiting is risky—being without AC in July isn’t worth any rebate to me.
