Honestly, I think both can be cozy or freezing depending on who’s putting them in and how cheap the builder went on insulation.
That hits home. My last place had “high-efficiency” skylights but whoever installed them must’ve skipped half the flashing. Ended up with condensation every winter, which was a pain. Has anyone noticed if clerestories are easier to insulate around than skylights? I keep wondering if it’s just trickier because they’re up on the roof...
