Safest way to clean a dusty exterior solar screen?
Dust buildup on a sun-exposed screen seems like it could call for a different approach than a sagging panel or loose corner. How do you tell when gentle cleaning is enough and when the screen needs repair or replacement?
I’d also like to know how the advice changes for fabric mesh versus metal screens. Are there common cleaners or tools that can damage the mesh, coating, frame, or fasteners?

For routine dust, a gentle rinse is a good starting point. If it needs more, use a soft cloth or brush with mild soap, then rinse; avoid pressure washers, abrasive pads, solvents, and harsh cleaners. They can damage fabric mesh or metal finishes, and may harm the frame or fasteners. Check the manufacturer’s care instructions, since finishes vary. If the mesh has holes or tears, or its edges are coming loose, stronger scrubbing won’t fix it; that’s a repair issue.
