RE: Window sensor goes intermittent after cleaning
Before disturbing the adhesive, test the sensor and magnet off the window. Move the magnet slowly through the marked alignment position several times and watch for an open/close change in the app each time. A missed tran...
RE: High-altitude window installs: weird pressure issues?
Man, I hear you on the drafty house thing. My old place was basically a wind tunnel in winter - felt like I was heating the backyard half the time. Tried all the usual suspects: weatherstripping, foam tape, even those pl...
RE: Getting new windows in without the headaches: my step-by-step
I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I’ve skipped liquid flashing a couple times (mostly because I was in a rush or just tired of upselling myself), and haven’t had any horror stories yet. Maybe I’ve just been l...
RE: Smart glass windows at home: worth it or just a fancy gimmick?
Couldn’t agree more. I geeked out over the “instant privacy” thing, but after seeing the price tag and realizing my blackout shades do 90% of the job for like 5% of the hassle... yeah, I’ll pass for now. Maybe if I win t...

RE: Would You Go With Classic Wood Windows Or Modern Vinyl After Swapping Yours Out?
Man, you nailed it - doesn’t matter if it’s wood, vinyl, or whatever, if the installer leaves gaps, your AC might as well be cooling the backyard. I’ve seen gorgeous wood windows rot out in five years ‘cause nobody kept ...
RE: Would You Share Pics If Your Window Swap Made Your House Look Totally Different?
Man, I hear ya on the “forward and backward” thing. I swapped out my old windows a couple years ago - original wood, drafty as heck but they had that wavy glass and just looked right, you know? The new ones are tight as ...
RE: New windows: energy savings or curb appeal - what's worth more?
That’s the thing nobody talks about - the noise. I went into my window swap thinking I’d be rolling in extra cash from all the “energy savings,” but honestly, my heating bill barely budged. Maybe a couple bucks a month. ...
