Cleaner residue at the glass edge and in window channels

If routine glass cleaning leaves a little moisture or cleaner near a triple-pane unit’s spacer or in the frame channels, what’s safe to wipe dry, and what should be left alone? I’m especially unsure whether the guidance differs for residue on exposed glass versus the narrow glass edge, where sealant or glazing materials may be nearby.

For the frame channels, is it generally safe to blot up visible liquid while taking care not to cover or disturb the weep openings? I’d also like to know what signs would make you stop cleaning and check the manufacturer’s care instructions or ask the installer, without assuming that moisture at the edge by itself means the insulated glass seal has failed.

A chipped or cracked glass edge, glazing material that looks displaced, or residue that seems trapped between panes isn’t just surface cleaner to keep wiping at. I’d stop and check the unit’s care guidance or ask the installer before doing more; the right handling can depend on the window’s construction.
