I get where you’re coming from about the LEED paperwork being a pain, but I kinda think it’s worth at least looking into if you’re planning to stay in your house long-term. Like, maybe the utility savings aren’t huge right away, but doesn’t it stack up over years? Plus, I’ve heard some local rebates are only available if you have that documentation. Not saying everyone needs the full LEED thing, but I’m still tempted by the idea of racking up points if it means more perks down the line... Even if my installer groans about it.

I get the appeal, but honestly, when I did my windows a few years back, the LEED paperwork almost drove me nuts. The installer kept losing forms, and in the end, the local rebate was so small it barely covered a fancy dinner. I’m not sure the hassle always pays off unless you’re super committed to going all-in on LEED across the whole house. Sometimes just picking high-efficiency windows and saving the receipts is enough for most rebates around here... at least that’s been my experience.
