I’ll admit, I was a skeptic about the whole “frame material makes a difference” thing until I swapped out my 80s aluminum sliders for fiberglass last year. The old windows rattled every time a truck rolled by, even with decent glass. After the switch, it’s not dead silent, but it’s a huge step up—no more whistling on windy nights, either. Honestly, I think people underestimate how much noise sneaks in around sloppy frames and bad seals. Fancy glass is great, but if the install’s half-baked or the frames are junk, you’re just throwing money at the problem.
