Had the same issue with condensation in my old place. Trickle vents helped a bit, but yeah, they’re not magic. I did notice more road noise too, especially during rush hour. Still beats shelling out for a full ventilation system though.

Can relate—trickle vents are kind of a double-edged sword. They cut down on condensation, but the extra noise is tough if you’re near a busy street. I ended up adding some thick curtains, which helped muffle the sound a bit. Not perfect, but cheaper than a full ventilation system or swapping out all the windows for triple glazing. Totally hear you there. I tried the same—heavy curtains make a surprising difference, even if they don’t fix everything. I guess with older houses, there’s always that trade-off between comfort and cost. At least the condensation’s down, right?

Curtains help, but if you’re dealing with single-pane windows, you’re just fighting a losing battle. I always tell folks—if you can swing it, swap out the worst offenders first. Even just replacing a couple windows in the draftiest rooms can make a bigger difference than layering up on curtains or plastic. Sometimes the upfront cost pays off faster than you think.
