Yep, learned this the hard way too—first house near the coast, thought “marine grade” 304 was fancy enough. Fast forward two years and I’m scraping rust off window latches like it’s a hobby. Honestly, if you’re anywhere salty, 316 is just less of a headache. My wallet still grumbles at checkout, but my future self thanks me every time I skip a weekend of repairs.
