Thinking about swapping out my old windows for vinyl ones before listing my house...but I'm kinda on the fence. Quick poll: if you were house hunting, would vinyl windows sway your decision at all? Or is it meh, whatever?

Honestly, vinyl windows alone wouldn't exactly make me jump up and down with excitement. Sure, they're better than old drafty ones, but as someone who's a bit obsessed with energy efficiency (yeah, I'm that person), I'd say it's more about the overall insulation and sealing of the house rather than just window material. I've seen houses with fancy new vinyl windows installed terribly—gaps everywhere—and others with older wooden frames sealed up tight as a drum.

If you're looking to boost appeal before selling, maybe consider getting an energy audit first? You might find cheaper fixes like weather stripping or attic insulation that'll give you more bang for your buck. Buyers who care about efficiency will appreciate seeing lower utility bills rather than just shiny new windows. Plus, you can casually drop the phrase "energy audit" during showings and sound super responsible...just sayin'.
