I get the appeal of privacy glass, but I’m not totally convinced it’s always the better option. In my last place, I swapped out curtains for frosted glass thinking it’d be easier, but honestly, the water spots were a bigger headache than I expected. Maybe I’m just picky, but even with regular wiping, hard water left marks that drove me nuts. Plus, if your bathroom doesn’t get much direct light to begin with, the extra daylight isn’t always that noticeable. Curtains can be annoying, sure, but at least you can toss them in the wash or replace them on the cheap. Just my two cents...
Totally get where you’re coming from. I tried frosted glass in our main bath and yeah, water spots are a pain. Here’s what worked for me: quick wipe-down after showers, vinegar spray once a week, and squeegee handy. Not perfect, but less hassle than I expected. Curtains are easier to swap, though... depends what bugs you more, I guess.
Yeah, I hear you on the water spots—those drive me nuts too. I actually switched to a textured privacy glass in our guest bath, and honestly, it hides the spots a bit better than the frosted stuff. Still gotta keep up with cleaning, but at least it doesn’t look grimy as fast. Curtains are definitely easier to swap out, but I like how the glass opens up the space, especially in a small bathroom. Guess it’s a tradeoff, like everything else in renos.
