Does replacing windows in stages add much to the total cost?
Replacing the worst-performing windows first could make the upfront cost easier to manage, but I’m wondering how much a phased job changes the overall price compared with doing all the openings at once.
For a useful comparison, should a quote break out per-opening costs from fixed charges such as setup and mobilization? I’d also want to understand whether the same window line and finishes are likely to be available for a later phase, and how flashing, trim, and warranty responsibilities would be handled across separate visits. Which of those details tends to make the biggest difference to the total?

The cleanest comparison may be to ask each bidder to price the same openings both as one job and as separate phases. Have them distinguish per-window costs from charges tied to each visit, such as setup, delivery, and mobilization. That makes it easier to see whether phasing adds cost mainly through repeated fixed charges rather than through the windows themselves.
