When we replaced our windows last year, the big-box store gave us a super detailed quote—seemed great at first—but then installation day came and suddenly there were "unexpected" charges for trim work. Ended up costing way more than the local guy who seemed vague at first but actually stuck to his original price. Sometimes transparency upfront doesn't guarantee honesty down the road...

Yeah, I hear ya on that. Had a similar thing happen with a local plumber—super chill guy, but getting him back for fixes was like chasing Bigfoot. Still, glad it worked out eventually!
