"Smaller local businesses can be hit or miss too, honestly."

Yeah, that's true, but honestly I've had way better luck with smaller places overall. When we replaced our windows last year, the big-box store gave us a super detailed quote—seemed great at first—but then installation day came and suddenly there were "unexpected" charges for trim work. Ended up costing way more than the local guy who seemed vague at first but actually stuck to his original price. Sometimes transparency upfront doesn't guarantee honesty down the road...

Yeah, I've seen that happen a lot. Big-box stores love their "unexpected" charges—funny how they're never unexpectedly cheaper, huh? Smaller places aren't perfect either, but at least you're usually dealing directly with the owner if something goes sideways...

Yeah, smaller places can be great, but they're not always a slam dunk either. Had a local guy install some windows for me last year—nice enough dude, but when one window leaked after a storm, it took forever to get him back out here. Eventually got sorted, but it was a hassle. Makes me wonder if financing through these smaller outfits is riskier if something goes wrong down the line...?

Yeah, I hear ya on that. Had a similar thing happen with a local plumber—super chill guy, but getting him back for fixes was like chasing Bigfoot. Still, glad it worked out eventually!
