I recently learned a neat trick about window placement and angles - basically, if you angle and size your windows right, the sun can do a surprising amount of heating for you. Anyone else tried this or got other tips to share?

Interesting idea, I've heard about this before but always wondered how practical it really is. Have you actually noticed a significant difference in your heating bills yet, or is it more subtle? I tried something similar a few years back - south-facing windows, careful placement, the whole deal - but honestly, the results were mixed. On sunny winter days, sure, the room warmed up nicely... but cloudy stretches made me question if it was worth all the effort.
Also makes me wonder about summer months - doesn't it get too hot inside? Or do you have some shading solution for that? Curious if you've found a good balance there. Either way, props for experimenting; even if it's not perfect, every bit helps these days.
