Tried cleaning skylights at my old place—never again. At least clerestories don’t leak every time it rains.
That’s a relatable take. I had skylights in my last house, too, and honestly, keeping them clean was more hassle than I expected. Plus, the seals eventually failed and the drips started... not fun. Clerestory windows might collect a bit of dust up high, but I’ll take that over water stains or surprise leaks any day. Sometimes “waving a broom” is about as much as anyone can manage—no shame in that.
