Couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying about drafts being the real villain. I used to think upgrading to a “premium” window would solve everything, but after tackling a 1950s ranch with some seriously drafty frames, it was the spray foam and careful trim work that finally made the living room comfortable. Not knocking Weather Shield—they do look nice—but if your old windows aren’t falling apart, sometimes it’s just about sealing up those sneaky gaps. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype, but the basics still matter most.
