How can I tell whether a window weep path is blocked?
What’s a safe way to identify the exterior weep openings on a window and clear visible debris without damaging a screen, seal, or internal drainage channel? I wouldn’t assume every small opening in the frame is a weep hole, or push a tool into a passage I can’t see.
If water remains in the track or shows up indoors, what observations help distinguish routine drainage from a blockage that needs an installer or window professional to inspect? Does the answer depend on the window’s design?
