How are simulated divided lites priced against other grille options?

What should a replacement-window quote specify to make the price of simulated divided lites easy to compare with grilles between the glass or removable interior grilles? I’d want to know whether the quoted amount is per sash or per window, and whether it covers the grille material and pattern.

I’m also curious how much the placement changes the look and cleaning routine. For a house where the grille pattern matters to the architectural style, when is the more divided-lite appearance worth the added cost?

“Simulated divided lites” can refer to different constructions, so I’d ask each bidder to name exactly what’s included. For example, are bars applied to both faces of the glass, with a spacer between the panes, or is it another setup? Without that detail, two quotes using the same label may be pricing different assemblies, making the comparison misleading.
