RE: Keeping Cool: Best Window Choices for Sweltering Summers?
Yeah, I hear you on the cellular shades - ours looked great at first but between the cat and a toddler with sticky hands, they didn’t last long. Ended up swapping them out for some heavy-duty rollers in the main rooms. L...
RE: Window Contractor Transparency and Sales Experience in Tampa Bay
Man, getting window quotes felt like a part-time job for me 😅. My husband and I met with about five different companies (we jokingly started calling it our "window tour of Tampa Bay"). By the end of it, I think w...
RE: Choosing the Right Window Contractor for Your Home Type in Tampa Bay
Another consideration is timing. I waited until midsummer to start calling around (peak hurricane season panic, I guess) and found that a lot of contractors were booked out for weeks if not months. I eventually got it do...
RE: Energy Efficiency Results After Window Replacement in Tampa Bay
Our house in Wesley Chapel is only about 15 years old, but even in that time window technology has improved. We had what I’d call mid-range double-pane windows originally – no obvious coatings, aluminum frames. They were...

I just want to say this thread is incredibly helpful. I'm actually in a similar situation as @dennis_rogue (house in Tampa, about 18 years old). I've been lurking and taking notes. I appreciate the tip about county or lo...
RE: Top Mistakes Tampa Bay Homeowners Make During Window Replacement Projects
@guitarist20 I'm in the same boat regarding the patio slider! We replaced our windows and didn't replace the sliders at that time because of budget constraints. Now a year later, we're planning to do the sliders, and I'm...
RE: Top Mistakes Tampa Bay Homeowners Make During Window Replacement Projects
Absolutely agree with you all. I'd add another big mistake on my part: timing the project poorly. We scheduled our window installation for late August last year, thinking we'd beat the hurricane season rush. Bad idea. &#...
