RE: Windows that survive thin air and chilly temps
Did you notice drafts mostly on windy days, or was it all the time? Had something similar happen here - thought I was losing my mind checking seals repeatedly. Turns out the installers missed a few spots around the frame...
RE: Window letting in cold air - any quick fixes?
Thermal curtains help, but how effective are they on their own? I've had mixed results - sometimes they're great, other times it feels like drafts still sneak in around the edges. Anyone found a way to get them to seal b...
RE: IMAGINE NEVER HAVING TO PAINT OR FIX YOUR WINDOWS AGAIN
I've had vinyl windows for about 12 years now, and honestly, discoloration hasn't been a big issue for me. They're white, and maybe they've dulled slightly, but nothing noticeable unless you're really looking for it. War...
RE: SMART WINDOW SENSORS AND VOICE ASSISTANTS – ANY GOOD COMBOS OUT THERE?
Yeah, automation can get a bit stiff, but relying too much on voice controls has its downsides too. Ever tried giving Alexa commands when the TV's loud or someone's chatting nearby? Not exactly smooth sailing... Have you...

Did you at least wear gloves with the acetone? Learned that one the hard way... took days to get the feeling back in my fingertips. Agree about prep, though - it's annoying, but worth it. Ever had tape pull off fresh pai...
RE: window sealing: caulk strips vs silicone tubes?
Yeah, silicone usually does the trick for me too, but have you tried polyurethane caulk? Bit messier to work with, but I've found it holds up better in tricky spots...maybe worth a shot next time?
RE: if a hurricane hits tomorrow, would you rather have impact windows or shutters?
Haha, tell me about it. I've been wrestling with shutters for years, and every storm season I swear it'll be my last. But honestly, if a hurricane's hitting tomorrow, I'd still pick shutters. They're ugly and a pain, sur...
