I've gotta agree here—installation matters, but good windows can definitely cover some minor mistakes. When we renovated our place, the guy installing our Tuscany windows was clearly new to the job (nice guy, but seemed a bit lost at times). Despite that, the windows have held up great through some pretty harsh winters. So yeah, quality windows like Milgard can be forgiving...but probably best not to test their limits too much.
Yeah, that's been my experience too. When we did our reno, the installer was decent but definitely rushed through a couple spots. I was worried at first, but honestly, the Milgard windows have held up surprisingly well—even through some nasty storms. Obviously, proper installation is ideal, but it's reassuring knowing good quality windows can handle a bit of imperfection. Glad yours turned out okay despite the hiccups...makes me feel better about ours too, haha.

Totally agree. We just had Milgard Tuscany installed a few months ago—installer missed some minor caulking spots, and I stressed about it big-time at first. But they've been solid so far, even with the crazy winds we've had lately. Definitely helps ease the homeowner anxiety, haha.

Same here, had mine about two years now. I noticed a few tiny gaps in the caulking after install, but honestly never got around to fixing them... hasn't been an issue yet, even through some heavy rainstorms. Seems like they're pretty forgiving windows overall.
I've had mine about four years now, and honestly, I forgot to latch one window during a big storm last winter—rain was literally blowing sideways. Woke up expecting a disaster, but nope... just a tiny puddle on the sill. Pretty forgiving indeed. I did eventually recaulk around one window that had noticeable gaps, but mostly for peace of mind. Seems like they're built to handle real-world homeowner laziness, haha.
