Been thinking about replacing my old drafty windows, and I'm kinda stuck between going for wood replacements or just sticking with vinyl or fiberglass. Wood looks great, no doubt, but the price difference is pretty steep. Curious what most folks here preferβ€”do you usually go for the pricier wood option for aesthetics and maybe resale value, or do you think the cheaper alternatives do the job just fine? Quick poll below, feel free to share your thoughts too.

Poll:
- Wood all the way, worth every penny
- Nah, cheaper options work just as well
- Depends on the house/style

Went through this exact dilemma last year when we redid ours. Ended up going vinyl because honestly, the price difference was just too much to justify. They look pretty decent, and the energy savings have been noticeable. But I gotta admit, every time I walk past a neighbor's house with those gorgeous wood frames, there's a tiny pang of envy... Maybe if our place had more of a classic style I'd have splurged?
