I get what you’re saying about the condensation, but honestly I’d rather deal with a little moisture than the drafts we used to have.
That’s creative, but I’d worry about compromising the seal long-term. Personally, I just stick with the heavy curtains in winter—less fiddling, and they’re easy to swap out. Those inserts are tempting though, especially when it gets really cold...“We ended up drilling a couple tiny weep holes (not exactly in the instructions) and that helped.”
