I actually had better luck with the shrink film than I expected—maybe I just got lucky with the hair dryer? The magnetic covers annoyed me more, honestly. They kept popping off whenever the wind picked up. Not perfect, but for the price, I’ll take a few wrinkles over a drafty room.

Yeah, I had the same issue with those magnetic ones. Maybe they're better for inside windows? Outside, they just became frisbees on a windy day. The shrink film is fiddly but at least it stays put. I do wonder if there’s a trick to getting fewer wrinkles, though—mine always end up looking a little rough around the edges. Still, for the cost, it’s hard to complain too much.
