I've messed around with a few different window frame materials over the years, and honestly, I think you're onto something with the wood. My experience has been that wooden frames seem to handle moisture and temperature swings surprisingly well—at least compared to some of the cheaper vinyl ones I've tried. Those vinyl ones fogged up faster than my bathroom mirror after a hot shower, lol.

A few years back, I replaced some older aluminum frames with vinyl because they were supposed to be "maintenance-free" and all that jazz. Turns out, they fogged up worse than ever before. I ended up spending more time wiping them down than I ever did maintaining the wooden ones. Go figure, right? Eventually, I caved and went back to wood frames on a couple windows—didn't even do a perfect install myself (hey, I'm no Bob Vila), but they've been holding up great and barely fog at all.

I think it might have something to do with how wood naturally breathes or absorbs moisture differently. Maybe it evens out the temperature shifts better, or maybe it's just luck... who knows. Either way, if you're already seeing good results with your DIY wooden frames, I'd stick with that route next time around. Plus, there's something satisfying about telling people you built or installed something yourself—even if it isn't exactly perfect.

Now, if only I could figure out how to stop my glasses from fogging up every time I open the dishwasher...

Haha, relatable...every single time. Anyway, totally agree about wooden frames. I had vinyl windows in my last place and they fogged up so much you'd think I was running a sauna inside. Switched to wood frames when we moved and haven't looked back since. Maybe it's just good luck, but I'll take it. Now if someone could invent tiny wooden frames for my glasses, we'd be golden...
