Every time we get a big storm here on the coast, my windows leak like crazy. Had them replaced about 5 years ago, but clearly something wasn't done right. I'm thinking maybe the installer didn't use the right materials or sealing methods for coastal conditions? Um...anyone else dealt with this and found a good solution or specific type of window that actually holds up to salty air and heavy rain?

You're probably onto something thereβcoastal installs are a whole different beast. Even if the windows themselves are rated for coastal use, a lot of installers skip critical steps like proper flashing tape and corrosion-resistant fasteners. I'd recommend checking if they used stainless steel hardware and a high-quality marine-grade sealant. Also, make sure there's proper drainage built into the window sill...you'd be surprised how often that's overlooked.
