We moved into a beachside cottage about 3 years ago, and it's been great except for one thing—the window frames. They're already showing signs of corrosion and wear from the salty air. Didn't really think about it when we bought the place, you know, just excited about the view. Anyone else living near the coast have recommendations for window frames that actually hold up longer than a couple years? Aluminum, vinyl, fiberglass...what's worked for you?

We had the exact same issue when we bought our first place near the coast. Like you, we were so caught up in the view that window frames weren't even on our radar. After a couple years, our aluminum frames looked like they'd been through a war zone. We switched to fiberglass about five years ago, and honestly, they've held up surprisingly well. Vinyl was tempting because of cost, but neighbors warned us they can warp in intense sun and salt. Fiberglass wasn't cheap, but it's been worth it so far...
