why is sealing around windows always such a pain?

I swear, every time I try to properly seal around my windows to keep moisture out, it turns into a weekend-long ordeal. You think you've got it right, then next rainstorm - bam, there's moisture creeping in again. Watched like a dozen YouTube tutorials, bought all the fancy tapes and barriers, but still... same issue. Is it just me being cursed by the DIY gods or does anyone else find this whole sealing business way trickier than it looks?
