I'm stuck deciding between installing storm shutters or upgrading to those hurricane-rated windows. Shutters seem cheaper, but the windows might be less hassle long-term, you know? Anyone have experience with either option?

I've done both, and honestly, hurricane windows are worth every penny. Shutters seem cheaper upfront, sure, but they're a pain to put up and take down every storm season. Plus, storing them gets old fast. With impact windows, it's set-and-forget—no scrambling when the weather turns nasty. If you can swing the cost now, you'll thank yourself later when your neighbors are wrestling shutters in the rain... trust me on this one.
