Just finished replacing a couple old vinyl windows with fiberglass ones. Took me a weekend, wasn't too bad. I measured twice (okay, maybe three times lol), removed the old frames carefully, sealed everything up tight with foam and caulked around the edges. Seems quieter now and looks nicer, but wondering if anyone has tips or tricks to make this easier next time?
Sounds like you did a pretty thorough job, especially with all that measuring... can't blame you there, I've been known to triple-check myself. One thing I found helpful when doing mine was using painter's tape around the edges before applying caulk—made cleanup way easier and gave a cleaner line. Also, did you use shims to level the windows? Took me a while to realize how much smoother they slide when perfectly level. Curious if anyone else noticed a big difference switching from vinyl to fiberglass...
