Had a dishwasher installed last week by the store's own installers, and honestly, it was kind of a mess. They showed up late, seemed rushed, and left some packaging behind. Last year though, I hired an independent guy to put in my ceiling fan and he was super careful, cleaned everything up after himself, and even gave me tips on maintenance. Wondering if anyone else noticed a difference between using brand installers vs hiring someone independently?

I've seen this happen a lot, actually. In my experience, brand installers can be hit or miss because they're often subcontracted and juggling multiple jobs in a day. Independent contractors, on the other hand, usually rely heavily on word-of-mouth and repeat business, so they tend to pay more attention to detail. Last summer, I had a similar experience—store installers rushed through a fridge install and scratched my floor. But when I hired an independent plumber later, he took extra time to explain everything clearly and even cleaned up thoroughly afterward.

Yeah, this has been my experience too. Had a brand installer do my washer/dryer combo last year and they left behind a mini flood—talk about energy efficiency gone wrong, lol. Later, an independent guy came to fix the mess and he was awesome. Took his time, explained how to optimize settings for energy savings, and even gave me a few tips on sealing gaps around appliances. Night and day difference, honestly.
