Had a window that just wouldn't shut properly, kept leaving this annoying gap at the bottom. After some googling and a YouTube vid or two, I figured out the hinges were shot. Got replacements online, unscrewed the old ones, popped the new hinges in, and realigned everything. Wasn't too bad, but lining it all up perfectly was kinda tricky, you know? Anyone else done this before and found an easier trick or something I missed?

Yeah, aligning hinges can be a bit fiddly sometimes... Did you check if the frame itself was still square? I've had windows where the frame shifted slightly—made alignment way trickier than it needed to be.
