Spicing up boring curtain rods—what actually looks good?

Energy-efficient panels are a win though. The AC barely runs in my bedroom now. Only downside is they’re heavy as heck, so yeah… those brackets into studs really are a must.

Totally agree—energy-efficient panels make a legit difference. I swapped mine out last summer and my electric bill actually dropped a bit. But yeah, the weight is no joke. I tried using those “heavy-duty” drywall anchors first... big mistake. If you’re gonna invest in thick panels, just do yourself a favor and break out the stud finder. Also, wood rods just feel sturdier to me than the metal ones I had before, plus they don’t get that weird cold touch in winter.
