You’re not kidding about the slow, careful part. I tried to weatherstrip a 1915 double-hung last winter and thought I’d knock it out in an afternoon—hah, naive me. Ended up with splinters, a pile of old paint chips, and a new respect for anyone who does this for a living. But honestly, once you get it tuned up, the energy savings and comfort are night and day.
