Installed acoustic windows a few years back—definitely quieter, but they're pricier and heavier than standard ones. Curious if anyone's noticed a big difference in heating/cooling bills after switching window types?
We swapped out our old single-pane windows for double-pane vinyl ones last year, and honestly, the difference in heating bills was noticeable but not massive. Definitely less drafty though, which made the house feel warmer overall. I've heard acoustic windows are even thicker—so maybe they'd insulate better? But if they're heavier, I wonder if installation costs would go up too... Always something to think about with home upgrades, right?

That's exactly what we noticed too when we upgraded ours. The heating bills improved a bit, but honestly the biggest benefit was comfort—no more cold air sneaking in around the edges. Acoustic windows might insulate better, but from what I've seen, the extra weight can make them trickier (and pricier) to install. A buddy of mine put them in his home office... great for noise reduction, but he said the installation was definitely more involved. Something to keep in mind.
