Double-pane low-E is usually enough around here, but honestly, reflective films can surprise you. I've seen them drop indoor temps noticeably, especially on west-facing windows. Might be worth a shot before ruling them out completely...

Reflective films can definitely punch above their weight, especially if you're dealing with that brutal afternoon sun. I added some to my west-facing sliders last summer—mostly as an experiment—and was genuinely surprised by the difference. Sure, they won't magically turn your home into an igloo, but every little bit helps when the Tampa heat kicks in. Plus, they're a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing entire windows...just saying.

Totally agree with this. Reflective films are a great first step, especially if you're on a budget. Another thing you might wanna consider is checking your weatherstripping and caulking around windows—it's surprising how much cool air can escape through tiny gaps. I did a quick DIY reseal last spring and noticed my AC cycling less often. Has anyone else tried sealing their windows, and did you notice a difference in your energy bills?
