Was daydreaming at work today (as usual, lol) and got this random idea for a sci-fi short story: a city where all windows auto-tint based on moods or something. But realistically, would regular folks afford that kinda tech? Could be fun...or just overpriced hype?
Tinting based on mood might be a stretch, but auto-tint windows themselves aren't that far-fetched. Installed some electrochromic film at home last year—pricey upfront, but energy savings and comfort are legit. Your idea sounds fun though...definitely worth exploring in a story.
Mood-based tinting does sound a bit sci-fi, but hey, stranger things have happened. Electrochromic films are definitely gaining traction—I've installed a few systems for clients, and while the initial cost can sting, the long-term comfort and energy savings usually win folks over. Plus, tech keeps improving, so who knows...maybe mood-responsive windows aren't as far off as we think. Could be a fun concept to play around with in fiction, for sure.
