- Glad I'm not alone—spent days troubleshooting before realizing clouds were the culprit...
- Curious, did you find tweaking schedules tricky at first?
- Haven't tried View either; SageGlass seems decent once you're past the initial headache.

Had a similar experience with SageGlass—spent hours tweaking schedules before realizing the sensor placement was off. Once dialed in though, performance was solid. Haven't tested View yet, curious if setup's smoother there...

Yeah, sensor placement is definitely the trickiest part with SageGlass. Took me a weekend of trial and error before getting it just right—ended up moving the sensor twice. Haven't personally tried View yet, but my neighbor has them installed. He mentioned the initial setup was smoother, though he still had some minor hiccups syncing everything up. Seems like smart window tech in general still has room to mature a bit...

Interesting to hear your experience with SageGlass. I haven't tried either of those brands yet, but honestly, I'm not sure sensor placement is as big a deal as people make it out to be. My brother installed View windows last summer, and he said once the initial setup was done, he barely even thinks about the sensors anymore. Maybe it's just luck or his particular setup, but he hasn't had any syncing issues at all since then.

Personally, I'm leaning toward View because of his positive experience, but I agree with you that smart window tech still has some growing pains. Still, compared to traditional windows, even with minor hiccups, it seems like a pretty solid upgrade overall. Guess I'll find out soon enough—planning to install mine next month...fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

Good luck with the install—I bet you'll be fine. Honestly, most home improvement projects seem scarier before you dive in...then you realize half the worries were over nothing. My neighbor switched to View windows last year and aside from a minor glitch initially (probably user error, lol), he's pretty much forgotten they're even "smart." Like you said, even with a few bumps, it's still way better than the old-school windows we're all used to. Let us know how it goes!

I've been considering smart windows too, but I'm still a bit skeptical about the long-term reliability. Good to hear your neighbor's experience has been positive overall. Did he mention anything about noticeable energy savings or comfort improvements after switching? I get the convenience factor, but I'm curious if the actual benefits justify the extra cost. Also, anyone here have direct experience with SageGlass specifically? Curious how it stacks up against View in terms of reliability and ease of use.

I've installed both View and SageGlass for clients, and honestly, the feedback's been pretty similar. One homeowner mentioned SageGlass noticeably reduced glare and heat in their sunroom—said it made afternoons way more comfortable. Energy savings were decent, though not dramatic...but comfort-wise, definitely worth considering.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've heard too. My neighbor installed SageGlass last summer—said afternoons went from "oven mode" to actually enjoyable. Energy bills didn't drop drastically, but comfort-wise, he's sold. Seems like comfort's the real selling point here...

Yeah, comfort's definitely the standout benefit here. I've installed both View and SageGlass for clients, and while energy savings are noticeable, they're rarely game-changing. Curious though—anyone notice differences in glare reduction between the two brands?

I'd second this observation. When I was researching smart windows for my own place, the energy savings numbers seemed a bit optimistic—real-world results often fall short of marketing claims. Regarding glare, I haven't personally tested View, but SageGlass did impress me during a showroom demo. The transition was smooth, and glare reduction felt substantial. Still, showroom conditions aren't exactly real life, so I'm cautiously optimistic rather than fully convinced...
