Smart film stays hazy after switching back to clear

How long should switchable tint film take to look clear again after it’s switched out of its tinted state? I’m also curious whether haze across the whole pane points to a different issue than cloudiness in just a few patches.
Without opening the controls or disturbing the film, are there safe observations that can help tell a temporary transition or power/control issue from a film problem? At what point would you contact the installer or manufacturer for service?

Note how long the haze takes to clear after switching back, whether it changes over a few normal cycles, and whether it covers the whole pane or only patches. If it persists, that record could help the installer or manufacturer assess it without disturbing the film or controls.
