Been thinking about finally replacing the windows in our house—honestly, they're ancient and drafty as heck. Did some research and narrowed it down to Simonton and Pella, but now I'm stuck. I've heard good things about both, but also a few horror stories here and there (you know how online reviews go...).
Simonton seems pretty solid for vinyl windows, decent price point, and people say they're reliable. But then again, Pella has that reputation for quality and style, especially their wood options. I'm not super picky about looks, but I do want something that'll last without breaking the bank.
Anyone here have personal experience with either brand? Like, did you regret your choice after a couple winters or notice any big difference in energy bills? Just trying to avoid buyer's remorse later on.

I'd agree with your assessment here. Installed Simonton vinyl windows about four years ago, and they've held up quite well—no noticeable drafts or leaks yet. Energy bills definitely improved, though not dramatically. Pella's wood options are appealing, but keep in mind wood requires more maintenance over time... repainting, sealing, etc. If you're after practicality and minimal upkeep, vinyl might be the safer bet.
