Been thinking lately... say you're building your dream home, and you decided to go with Kolbe windows. Fast forward a couple years, would you still feel good about that choice or wish you'd gone another route? Curious how folks feel long-term.

We put Kolbe windows in our place about four years ago. Overall, pretty satisfied—solid build quality, smooth operation, and they've held up well through some harsh winters. One thing I'd mention though: we had an issue with condensation on the inside panes during really cold snaps. Not a dealbreaker, but worth considering if you're in a colder climate. Still, I'd probably choose them again...just maybe pay closer attention to the glazing options next time around.
Agree with you on Kolbe windows—had mine installed about three years ago and they've been pretty reliable overall. A couple quick thoughts from my experience:
- Condensation was an issue for me too, but I found it improved a lot after tweaking our indoor humidity levels. Might be worth checking your home's humidity settings if you haven't already.
- Definitely second your point about glazing options. We went with triple-pane glass in the bedrooms, and it's noticeably warmer and quieter compared to the double-pane ones we put in elsewhere.
- One minor gripe: the screens seem a bit flimsy compared to the rest of the window build quality. Had to replace one already after a storm blew it loose.
All things considered, I'd still pick Kolbe again, but I'd probably upgrade all windows to triple-pane next time around...especially if you're dealing with harsh winters regularly.
