We're finally biting the bullet and replacing our ancient windows. Costco has this partnership thing going on, and I'm kinda torn between AmCraft and the other brands they offer. Price-wise they're pretty close, but I'm wondering if anyone's noticed a real difference in quality or installation experience? You know, like one brand holding up better over time or fewer headaches during install. Any experiences appreciated, good or bad.

We went through Costco for windows about three years ago, and ended up choosing AmCraft after a lot of back-and-forth. Honestly, the quality has been solid—no drafts, smooth operation, and the seals still look brand new. Installation was pretty painless too; the crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up nicely afterward.

But here's something to consider: my brother-in-law went with another Costco-offered brand (I think it was Milgard?), and while he's generally happy, he did mention some minor issues with the locking mechanisms feeling flimsy after a year or so. Nothing major, but enough to notice.

From what I've seen, AmCraft seems to have slightly better hardware quality overall. But honestly, installation quality can vary depending on your local crew. I'd suggest asking Costco directly who handles installs in your area and checking their reviews separately...might save you some headaches down the road.
