black interiors in cars—classy or gloomy?

Been checking out some of the new car models lately, and I noticed a lot more of them are going with black interiors. I mean, I get it—black is sleek and all—but honestly, doesn't it feel a bit dark and cramped after a while? My current ride has beige seats and lighter trim, and even though it's a pain to keep clean (coffee spills, anyone?), it feels pretty open and airy inside.

I test drove one yesterday with an all-black interior, and at first glance it looked super classy, but after sitting in it for like 10 minutes, I dunno...felt kinda gloomy? Maybe it's just me being picky or something. Curious if anyone else has switched from lighter interiors to black and regretted it later. Or maybe you love it? Just wondering how practical or comfortable it really is day-to-day.

Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. Black interiors can look sharp at first, but practically speaking, they absorb a lot more heat in the summer months—something to consider if you live somewhere sunny. Also, dust and fingerprints show up surprisingly easily on dark surfaces. Personally, I'd stick with lighter interiors for comfort and ease of maintenance, even if it means dealing with the occasional coffee spill...
