the price tag made me laugh
Same here—my wallet ran for cover. I’m all for “futuristic” windows, but if they don’t actually keep the cold out, what’s the point? Triple-panes might not look cool, but at least my toes aren’t frozen in January.
I hear you on the price. I installed a couple of demo solar windows in my own place last year—mostly out of curiosity, since clients kept asking. They look cool and do generate a bit of power, but honestly, their insulation isn’t quite on par with decent triple-pane units. On a cold night, you can feel the difference if you stand close. Maybe in a few years the tech will catch up... right now, it’s a tradeoff between looks and comfort.
