Haha, moving blankets behind the curtains—love that. I actually thought about taping up bubble wrap on my windows at one point, but chickened out because it felt a little too “college dorm.” Did you notice a big difference with the thermal liners? I’m tempted, but I keep wondering if it’s worth the extra step or if I should just keep piling on the socks and sweaters. My windows are original to the house (aka ancient), so I feel your pain with the drafts...

I totally get the hesitation with bubble wrap—tried it once in my first apartment, and yeah, it looked pretty rough. With the thermal liners, I actually noticed a decent difference, especially at night. Here’s what worked for me: 1) measured the curtains, 2) cut the liner to fit, 3) used those little curtain clips to attach so I could take them off easily. Not glamorous, but less drafty and I didn’t have to crank up the heat as much. Still wear thick socks though… old windows are just relentless.
