I recently learned that upgrading to triple-pane windows can almost double the weight compared to regular double-pane ones. Never really thought about it before, but now I'm wondering if regular framing is even strong enough for that kind of load... anyone have experience with this?

Had the same thought when we upgraded ours a few years back. Installer said standard framing usually handles it fine, but older homes (like mine...) might need some reinforcement. We ended up adding extra support just to be safeβpeace of mind, ya know?
