Had a bit of a scare yesterday afternoon. Decided to finally tackle replacing the old windows upstairs—figured it couldn't be that hard, right? Borrowed my neighbor's ladder, set it up against the house, and got to work. Everything was going fine until I was halfway through installing the second window. I leaned just a bit too far to the side to grab my drill, and suddenly the ladder shifted underneath me. You know that feeling when your stomach just drops? Yeah, that was me.
Luckily, I managed to grab onto the window frame and steady myself before anything serious happened. But man, it really shook me up. I thought I had the ladder positioned pretty solidly, but apparently not. After calming down a bit, I repositioned it and finished the job, but I was way more cautious after that.
Got me thinking though—maybe there's some tricks or tips I'm missing when it comes to ladder placement or window installs. I've done plenty of DIY stuff around the house, but ladders always make me a little nervous. Anyone else had a close call like this or have some advice on how to avoid it next time?
Had a similar scare a few years back—ladder slipped just enough to make my heart skip a beat. Ever since, I swear by ladder stabilizers and always double-check the angle. Makes a huge difference, trust me. Glad you're alright!
