Why does a small window order cost so much per opening?
When a replacement project covers only a few windows, how do contractors usually account for fixed costs such as crew setup, delivery, disposal, and minimum labor charges? I’d expect those costs to be spread across fewer units than on a whole-home job, but I’m not sure how they’re typically shown in a quote.
For example, if one bid covers three openings and another covers five, should each quote separate the window-unit price from shared job costs, or is a single installed price per opening more useful? What’s the fairest way to compare them when the quantities differ, without mistaking a lower per-window figure for equivalent scope or quality?
