We went fiberglass about 5 years ago after having vinyl in our previous place. Honestly, the difference in drafts and noise reduction was night and day—especially noticeable during those brutal winter storms. If your budget allows, I'd say fiberglass is worth the extra upfront cost.
We replaced our windows about 8 years ago and went with vinyl, mostly because fiberglass was a bit out of our price range at the time. Honestly, they've held up pretty well overall—no major complaints—but I do notice they're not quite as good at blocking noise as I'd hoped. Our neighbor's dog still sounds like he's barking right in our living room some nights... 🙄
