I've been noticing a pretty annoying draft coming through my windows lately, and I'm thinking of finally tackling it myself. I've seen those plastic insulation kits you stick on with a hairdryer, but I've also heard good things about weather stripping tape. I'm leaning towards the insulation kits because they seem easier, but maybe weather stripping lasts longer? Anyone tried both and have a preference?

I've installed both types countless times, and honestly, weather stripping tape is the way to go. Those plastic kits are quick, sure, but they tear easily and look pretty rough after a season. Weather stripping lasts longer and seals better—worth the extra effort, imo.
